Remembering
I posted a few days ago about "Remembering in God's way," and I've add an additional insight. As Christians, we recognize the importance of the sacrament, an ordinance that Christ instituted the night before His crucifixion (Luke 22:19–20). This is what the dictionary says about the sacrament:
Today the sacrament is an ordinance
in which Church members partake of bread and water in remembrance of
Jesus Christ's atoning sacrifice. This ordinance is an essential part of
worship and spiritual development. Through this ordinance, Church
members renew the covenants they made with God when they were baptized (Sacrament).
We are remembering in God's way when we take the sacrament. It is not passive—we are expected to integrate our remembrance with our lives. Recognizing this truth helps me understand the sacrament so much better, and it deepens my resolve to remember the Savior.
