Cracks in the Crowd

Heavenly Father knows where we are in the crowd, and He reaches through and finds us.

God is the loving Heavenly Father of every soul. He is my Father, and He is yours.

A few weeks ago, my friend Tracy told a story that resonated deeply with me. A woman desperately wanted to talk to a prophet of God, and so she drove several days to reach Salt Lake City. Informed that President David O. McKay would walk from his car to the conference center, she waited outside the appropriate doors. People gathered, and soon she was lost in the crowd. Her heart sinking, she said a fervent prayer, begging her Heavenly Father for the opportunity to meet His prophet. When the prophet finally arrived, he reached through the crowd, found her hand, and pulled her through. "Walk with me," he said. A man of God found the cracks in the crowd and invited a daughter of God to feel the divine love of her Savior.

I know that God always does the same for us. Heavenly Father finds the cracks in the crowd, and he pulls us through. We are his children. Paul said to the Romans, "The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God" (Romans 8:16). The Spirit of God witnesses to my spirit that this is true. I know who I am, I know who you are, and our souls are precious to the Father.
