A "Facebook" for our Ancestors

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has redone its family history site! FamilySearch is now interactive, beautiful, and fun—perfect for exploring your genealogy. My fellow missionary, Sister Randquist, compared it to a "Facebook for our ancestors," which I think summarizes how amazing the changes really are. I had such a fun time familiarizing myself with the new website, and I look forward to sharing it with everyone.

It is about more than exploring your genealogy, though; Elder Bradley D. Foster has said,
"That little dash between the birth and death date seems so small and insignificant, but our whole history lies within it. So while we often focus on discovering those dates, our love of our ancestors—the turning of our hearts to our fathers—comes forth from discovering the dash” (Genealogy Changes Charts; Family History Changes Hearts).
FamilySearch is there to find out what the dash holds and to share it. The new site includes places for photos and stories, and my family has already included photos I've never seen before. I feel so much more connected to my ancestors, and the church is making it fun.
