We Need to Trust Him

One of the common phrases in the gospel is "Endure to the End" (3 Nephi 15:9). Enduring to the end is when people
"continue throughout their lives in exercising faith in Jesus Christ, repenting, and renewing the covenants they have made. These are not just steps that they experience only once in their lives; rather, when repeated throughout life these principles become an increasingly rewarding pattern of living" (Preach My Gospel).
This patterna pattern that changes usis only possible through the atonement of Christ. The atonement is central to the plan of salvation, or the plan that God has for His children to return back to live with Him. In this plan, we are completely reliant on Christ. Part of life is learning to trust Him and to accept His help.

When we came to this earth, we decided to trust Christ. However, others decided not to trust in our Saviorincluding Satan. Elder Henry B. Eyring says,
"that lack of trust  has brought sorrow to Heavenly Father's children from before the world was created . . . many of our brothers and sisters in the premortal world rejected the plan for our mortal life presented by our Heavenly Father and His eldest son, Jehovah. We don't know all the reasons for Lucifer's terrible success in inciting that rebellion. However, one reason is clear. Those who lost the blessing of coming into mortality lacked sufficient trust in God to avoid eternal misery" (Trust in God, Then Go and Do).
When presented with a choice, we decided to trust in Christ, and this brought us that chance for eternal happiness. We need to continue to trust in Him, and trust that He has the power to help us. I know that He does. I am so grateful for the constant access I have to Him and to His atonement. Elder Eyring clarifies that,
"You show your trust in Him when you listen with the intent to learn and repent and then you go and do whatever He asks. If you trust God enough to listen for His message in every sermon, song, and prayer . . . you will find it. And if you then go and do what He would have you do, your power to trust Him will grow, and in time you will be overwhelmed with gratitude that He has come to trust in you" (Trust in God, Then Go and Do).
