Priesthood Power

I believe in priesthood power, or the power and authority of God (Priesthood Power). The priesthood power has always been held by God's prophets on the earth. One of my favorite descriptions of how that authority is passed is when Moses ordains Joshua:
And he laid his hands upon him, and gave him a charge, as the Lord commanded by the hand of Moses. Numbers 27:23
I imagine the weight of that calling settling around Joshua's shoulders and how small he must have felt, knowing that he had to lead the people after Moses. However, Joshua had God's power--a power God generously gives to his children. With it, he was able to lead the Children of Israel into the promised land.

That priesthood power was giving by Jesus Christ to his apostles (John 15:16) and was meant for the administration of His church (Titus 1:15). However, that authority was lost for a long time (Amos 8:11-12).

It was finally restored to the prophet Joseph Smith, and there have continued to be living prophets on the earth since that time. I am so grateful that God's priesthood power is here on the earth now.
