Personal Constitution: Hope

My personal constitution is constructed of gospel truths on which I wish to build my life. I am not there yet, but I know that if I build on the rock of my Redeemer, who is Christ, I cannot fall (Helaman 5:12).
I am hopeful. I recognize that I can only live by looking to the future and that hope will help me overcome any despair. I believe that any pain I experience today is only a stop on the road to deliverance—a deliverance that only comes through the atonement of Christ. I have the gift of the Holy Ghost, which comfort will fill any void my heart has. I will face the crucible of experience with all the traits necessary to develop hope: faith in God, righteous and purposeful living, positive expectations, goal setting, personal effort, self control, perseverance, and competence in developing healthy relationships. I challenge negative beliefs and thoughts, recognizing myself as a daughter of the Most High God, and I orient my spirit toward Him who created me and has promised me an eternal destiny.
